ABOUT CHUCK SCOTT
After discovering the sport of hockey in 1992, Chuck Scott quickly became attached to this great game and spent every waking moment either playing the game or learning more about it and its equipment. After playing many hours of street hockey, Chuck began playing hockey in the Capital Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA). After high school, Chuck began playing club roller hockey at Ohio State University. Chuck also played club hockey at OSU during his senior year.
He added coaching to his resume, taking on an Easton Youth Hockey Association bantam squad and later serving as assistant coach of St. Charles' Varsity team. Chuck also gives private lessons at the Hockey Training center and has refereed inline hockey since 1996.
During his freshman year at OSU, Chuck began his pro shop career working at OSU's ice rink. This allowed him to learn more about the delicate art of sharpening skates, the retail hockey equipment world, and excellence in customer service. Two years later, Chuck became an employee of The Hockey Stop on Bethel Road in Columbus, Ohio. While gaining more knowledge about equipment, Chuck quickly became the man to see when it came to getting friendly, knowledgeable service.
Upon graduation from Ohio State, Chuck took on the larger role of managing The Hockey Stop for 4 years. With over 7 years of pro shop experience, Chuck has become Columbus' most knowledgeable man about hockey equipment and its most trusted sharpener.
Recognizing a need in the community, Chuck decided to service the hockey public by offering a pick-up and delivery service for local teams to get their skate sharpening needs handled. Top Shelf is a result of that need.
As a Columbus native, Chuck has seen Columbus grow from a one-rink hockey town to a 7-rink, 10 sheets of ice, hockey town. As Columbus hockey grows, Chuck continues to grow with it and contribute through coaching, instructional, knowledgeable equipment help, and now, pick-up and delivery skate sharpening!
